OUR STORY

Every great restaurant has a story. Ours just happens to include a legendary burger, unforgettable memories and nearly two decades of serving Memphis.

2005 • A Memphis Tradition Begins

Kooky Canuck's story began in downtown Memphis with one simple idea: create a restaurant where great food, cold drinks and genuine hospitality come together. From day one, it was about creating an experience as memorable as the meal itself.

A Legend is Born

As word spread, one menu item quickly became larger than life.

The Kookamonga Burger Challenge, a towering burger weighing nearly eight pounds with all the fixings, became one of Memphis' most iconic food challenges. Thousands have taken it on, but only a select few have earned bragging rights by finishing it.

National Spotlight

Kooky Canuck's bold personality and famous burger earned national recognition with a feature on Man v. Food, introducing the restaurant to audiences across the country and solidifying its reputation as one of Memphis' must-visit dining destinations.

A variety of American-style dishes served on white plates with brown speckled edges, including French fries, fried chicken wings, fried fish filets, salad with grilled chicken, pasta with dark sauce, fried croquettes, and breaded mozzarella sticks, accompanied by various dipping sauces.

Built by Community

Over the years, Kooky Canuck has become much more than a restaurant. It's where birthdays are celebrated, sports fans gather, coworkers meet for lunch, families make memories and visitors discover one of Memphis' most unique dining experiences.

Our guests have always been at the heart of our story and we're grateful for everyone who has walked through our doors.

Big Food. Big Community.
